Inspection at the Antônio Bezerra terminal prevents unauthorized passage of passengers. Passengers who passed through the Antônio Bezerra bus terminal, in Fortaleza, were surprised by new guidance this Monday (15). Local employees informed that it is mandatory to use the terminal tunnel to cross between platforms. Passengers at the terminal usually cross using the spaces at the limits of the railing that separates the platforms, to change from one to the other. However, this practice is being prevented by terminal employees. The accident occurred during an operational maneuver carried out by the driver of the vehicle who was leaving to start his journey on line 042 - Antônio Bezerra/Francisco Sá/Papicu. The initiative, according to the agency, aims to make pedestrians aware of the importance of using appropriate access points for crossing – which, in the case of the Antônio Bezerra terminal, are the tunnels and elevators exclusive to passengers, according to Etufor. “Adopting this safe path is to contribute to the prevention of accidents in the terminals and to greater safety for the almost 100,000 people who visit the location daily,” said Etufor. Safe Passage Passengers are forced to cross a tunnel to change platforms at the Antônio Bezerra terminal. g1 Etufor said that the actions will continue until June 19. Teams will carry out educational approaches to guide users about the risks of crossing in prohibited areas. One of the terminal's critical points will feature the use of a camera with motion detection technology: whenever a pedestrian tries to cross at a vehicle-only point, an educational sound message will automatically be emitted, reinforcing the importance of using safe crossings. “The campaign reinforces the importance of simple attitudes that make all the difference in preserving life, avoiding risk situations and contributing to the safety of all users”, highlighted Raphael Cavalcante, director of Accessibility, Sustainability and Social Inclusion (Diasis) at Etufor. "Preventive actions are part of the terminals' routine and are essential to maintain the safety and quality standards of public transport. Constant monitoring of operations contributes to a safer environment for both users and professionals who work daily at the terminals", added Américo Pimentel, coordinator of the Monitoring and Operations Directorates (Dimop).
