Anastácia sings during the ceremony in which she receives the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from UFPE "Queen of Forró", Anastácia received, this Monday (15), the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE). The honor was granted in recognition of her career in music and her work as a writer, chronicler and defender of northeastern cultural memory. Considered one of the main references of forró pé de serra and Brazilian popular music, the artist is the author of more than 800 songs, including classics such as "Eu Só Quero um Xodó". Throughout her career, the singer wrote several compositions alongside Dominguinhos. In 2017, she was nominated for a Latin Grammy in the category of Best Roots Music Album in Portuguese Language for the album "Dáculo Jeito!". The title of Doctor Honoris Causa is awarded to individuals who have contributed to the development of the university, the region or the country, or who have distinguished themselves in areas such as science, letters, arts and culture. The proposal to grant the title was presented by the Postgraduate Program in Music (PPGMúsica) at UFPE and approved by the University Council (Consuni) in a session held on December 1, 2025.
