After a lack of agreement between the member municipalities of the Public Transport Consortium of the Metropolitan Region (CTM), the city of Aracaju presented the model for the new public transport tender to the Public Ministry of Sergipe (MPSE), this Monday (15).

According to the city hall, during the meeting with the MPSE, the studies prepared by the Economic Research Institute Foundation (Fipe) and the guidelines that underlie the new bidding process were detailed, built based on technical criteria and aimed at improving the quality of the service provided to the population.
Still according to the city hall, Fipe presented to the MPSE the evolution of the studies carried out since the beginning of the project, which involved diagnosis of public urban mobility policy, technical analyzes and successive improvements to the proposed model

The last meeting of the CTM, which took place last Friday, brought together representatives from Aracaju, Barra dos Coqueiros, São Cristóvão and Nossa Senhora do Socorro and the state government and had as its main agenda the action plan for 2027 and the direction of the public transport tender, but the discussions did not progress satisfactorily for the capital.
During the meeting, there was disagreement on the part of Aracaju regarding the decision of the representatives of the municipalities of Nossa Senhora do Socorro, Barra dos Coqueiros and São Cristóvão to issue service orders to the companies that won the 2024 bidding lots. The state government abstained from the decision.
