To TV Clube, the Piauí Public Security Secretariat (SSP-PI) informed that, between January and May, 6,796 bulletins were registered in the state. The secretariat also reported that the most common crime is embezzlement, with more than 1,800 records, followed by theft and threats. Delegate Bruna Verena explained that most cases occur indoors. According to the president of the Municipal Council for the Elderly, Fannyelly Cristina, it is not possible to identify the exact number of elderly people who suffer violence. "This violence does not only occur against those who live in vulnerable situations, but also against those who have good socioeconomic conditions", he highlighted.
