"They filled the draft beer barrels with lower-priced beers," said Procon's head of inspection to g1. According to the agency, the practice constitutes possible misleading advertising, as the consumer would be purchasing a product different from that offered by the establishment. In addition to the suspicion involving the barrels, the inspection found expired products and barrels that had expired. The irregular items were seized and discarded by the Health Surveillance. The Teresina Health Surveillance manager, Jeanyne Seba, reported that the restaurant also did not present its operating license during the inspection. Because of the irregularities found, the place was fined and closed. "The seized products, which were expired, were eliminated. We removed them from circulation. Every product has its expiration date, this is a safety margin that the company gives the consumer to purchase. After expiration, it represents a risk", stated the manager. According to Health Surveillance, an administrative process will be opened for the company to present a defense and regularize the necessary documentation to resume operations. The Crimes against the Tax, Economic and Consumer Relations Department (Deccoterc) is monitoring the case. According to delegate Sebastião Alves, a report should indicate whether there was adulteration of the products and those responsible for the restaurant will be interviewed during the investigation.
