Actions were carried out by Amazonas security forces throughout the month of May. Disclosure/SSP-AM Operation Present Security seized more than 4.1 tons of drugs and resulted in the arrest of 832 people in 30 days of operation in Amazonas. The action was launched by the State Government on May 5 and reinforced the fight against crime in the capital and in the interior, with a focus on combating organized crime. Coordinated by the Amazonas Public Security Secretariat (SSP-AM), with support from the Federal Government's Brazil Against Organized Crime program, the operation brings together personnel from the Military Police, Civil Police, Fire Department and Technical-Scientific Police Department. The actions intensified overt and preventive policing throughout the state. In addition to the capital, the operation was expanded to 61 municipalities in the interior. The actions also included the use of 11 armored boats to patrol rivers and difficult-to-access communities, as well as vehicles, boats, weapons and monitoring systems. During the period of the operation, the Civil Police also intensified the fight against crimes against children and adolescents. According to General Delegate Bruno Fraga, 146 arrests were made during Operation Caminhos Seguros 2026, aimed at protecting this public. One of the highlighted cases was the robbery of a 60-year-old businessman, which occurred on June 2, in the São José Operário neighborhood, East Zone of Manaus. With the support of the Paredão video surveillance system, two suspects were arrested less than 48 hours after the crime.
