31st Fraternity Walk with the theme "True Love, with the blessings of St. Anthony" the Fraternity Walk 2026, with the theme “True love, with the blessings of Saint Anthony”, takes place this Saturday (13), in Teresina. The event began at 4pm, at São Benedito Church, in the center of the capital, with a celebration by Archbishop Dom Juarez Marques. Held by the Archdiocesan Social Action (ASA), the walk reaches its 31st edition and focuses on actions of sharing and solidarity. The faithful will walk along sections of Avenida Frei Serafim until they reach their destination, Parque Potycabana. ✅ Follow the g1 Piauí channel on WhatsApp According to ASA, the theme seeks to rescue the essence of donation. The episcopal vicar and creator of the walk, Father Tony Batista, stated that this edition proposes to return to the true meaning of the word “love”. "We are in a society where everything is disposable. There is no longer that meaning that is truly love. Love is donation, love is promoting another, love is a decision. So, we take Santo Antônio as this motto, which is an example of love, of surrender to God and others", he explains. The edition included the sale of t-shirts in brown, white, red, yellow and blue. The money raised will be allocated to around eight projects that benefit people in vulnerable situations. Fraternity Walk 2026 will have a religious theme and a World Cup atmosphere with a big screen in Teresina Reproduction/Archdiocese of Teresina In a World Cup mood According to the Archdiocese, this year's Walk will also celebrate the national unity promoted by the World Cup. The event will take place on the same day as Brazil's game against Morocco. The coordinators of the Walk, Virgolino Neto and Ana Benedita, informed that, after the route, a big screen will be installed to broadcast the game in the arena set up in Potycabana. "We are also imbued with the spirit of the World Cup, as Brazil is playing on that day. After the mass, we will walk the route with the blessings of Saint Anthony, everyone preparing in this warm-up for the closing at the Arena da Caminhada da Fraternidade, which will be set up in Potycabana", explains Ana Benedita. To TV Clube, the coordinator informed that, because of the game, there will be no show to end the walk. “We will have the Melhor de Três band during the journey and the final entertainment before the game”, he stated.
