Upon returning to the property where Thalya's body was, the suspect decided to fake the scene to make the case look like a suicide. According to the police, the case was initially registered as a suspicious death, after Thalya Andréya Canhim Nunes was found dead in a room at the back of the house. The suspect had gone to the Dracena Judicial Police Center (CPJ), accompanied by a lawyer, and denied any involvement in the young woman's death. During the investigation, the police interviewed several people linked to the victim and the person being investigated, including family members and people close to them, who described the couple's history of coexistence and the circumstances that preceded the crime. From the investigations, the police identified that the man had tried to alter the crime scene and create a false narrative of suicide. According to the police, the crime occurred in the presence of children who live in the house. Case remains under investigation.
