Former president of Eusébio municipality is reported for harassment at work An employee of the Eusébio Municipal Transit Authority, in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza, denounced the former president of the body for harassment and persecution in the workplace. The case is investigated by the Eusébio Police Station. The woman, who prefers not to identify herself, even requested a protective measure against the former manager. Follow the g1 Ceará channel on WhatsApp According to the employee, who has worked at the municipality for about a year, the episodes began at the end of 2025 with compliments about her appearance, clothes, perfume, hair and nails. As time went by, however, the approaches became more frequent and embarrassing. In an interview with TV Verdes Mares, the woman reported that she began to receive insistent invitations to go out and travel with the then president of the municipality. She claims that he even offered to pay for accommodation so they could spend weekends together. "He went so far as to carry my functional badge in his wallet and commented several times that, when he went to sleep, he left my photo on his bedside table so he would have a better night", he reported. The server also stated that she was called to the manager's office under different pretexts and that, upon arriving there, she was photographed by him. According to the report, on some occasions the then president asked his secretary to take photos of her. The woman also said that she suffered unwanted physical contact during a meeting. "One of the times I was sitting in the meeting room, taking notes, he came up behind me in the chair and grabbed my neck with all his strength, took me behind the chair and I reacted immediately, because I felt like I was being hanged," she said. According to the server, the episode was treated by the manager as a joke. She stated that the episodes affected her mental health and caused her to take time off work on two occasions. "In certain situations, I found myself in so much panic and fear that I started to self-medicate with tranquilizers," he reported. According to her, other women would also have been victims of similar behavior. The employee decided to formalize the complaint to the police after, according to her, she began to be persecuted outside the work environment. She reported that she noticed a car parked near where she was and that, when she got out, she saw the former president filming her. "I went into despair and panic. My sister managed to take a very shaky photo of him, of the license plate. I have this photo on record," he said. The woman said she fled the scene with her son and believed she was being followed. Furthermore, she states that, even without having been officially dismissed, she was replaced in the position after presenting a medical certificate. According to the report, she was also asked to return equipment and work materials, such as a notebook, cell phone, badge, room key and uniform. Investigations The Civil Police reported that the case is being investigated by the Eusébio Police Station and that interviews are being held to progress the investigation. In addition to the ongoing criminal investigation, there is a history of complaints related to the municipality's work environment. In 2021, the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT) signed a Conduct Adjustment Term (TAC) with the body to prevent cases of moral harassment and discrimination in the workplace. According to the MPT, the agreement provided for educational actions and, after monitoring, the measures were considered fulfilled, leading to the procedure being archived. The agency also reported that, in 2024, it received a new complaint related to the work environment at the municipality, but the case was closed due to a lack of additional information from the complainant. The ministry added that new allegations with sufficient elements could result in the opening of investigations and the adoption of legal measures. What the City Hall says In a note, Eusébio City Hall informed that it was aware of the complaints and that, before adopting any administrative measure, the then head of the municipality submitted a request to resign from his position to dedicate himself fully to his defense in the judicial sphere. The municipal administration also stated that it does not condone any form of discrimination, violence or disrespect and that the facts will be investigated by the competent authorities, guaranteeing the right to full defense and contradictory proceedings.
