June festivities schedule in Noronha has been released Ana Clara Marinho/TV Globo The Administration of Fernando de Noronha released this Friday (12) the schedule for the island's June festivities. The events will have free entry and will take place on the 18th, 24th, 28th and 29th of June. The festivities will feature square dances, local attractions and artists from the continent. Among the highlights are the band Capim com Mel and singer Petrúcio Amorim. The opening will be on June 18th, with "Arraiá da Mió Age", which this year has the theme “In the rhythm of the accordion and the sea waves”. The party will be held from 4pm, at the Escola Arquipélago court, with a June square dance, forró pé de serra, typical foods and lots of entertainment. ✅ Receive g1 news on WhatsApp This year, there will also be no celebration on Saint John's Eve, unlike previous editions. On June 24th, Saint John's Day, the celebration takes place at the Port of Santo Antônio, starting at 7pm. The musical program will feature a performance by Quadrilha Dona Naneta (see video below). The night will also feature shows by Kelly Oliveira, Guilherme Ferri, André Love and Davi Paz, as well as DJ Luccas, responsible for livening up the breaks. Buses will run until midnight. June gangs and shows mark the night of São João in Fernando de Noronha Arraiá das Madeira Arraiá das Madeiras will be held on June 28th, at Alameda das Acácias, in the neighborhood of Floresta Nova. The Dona Nanete gang will perform again, in addition to shows by Michel Brocador, Neném Mil, Ju Medeiros, Roxinó do Nordeste and Candeeiro Encantado. Saint Peter's Day, celebrated on June 29, is a public holiday in Noronha. Considered the patron saint of fishermen, the saint is one of the most worshiped on the island. The religious program starts at 9 am, with mass in the Porto de Santo Antônio chapel. Afterwards, a procession, barqueata will be held and a free fish dish will be served to residents and tourists. The musical program will feature shows by Petrúcio Amorim, Capim com Mel, Everton Freitas, Trio da Huanna and João Marlevou. The Festa de São Pedro is organized by the Fishermen's Association and the Catholic Church, with support from the Administration of Fernando de Noronha.
