Three criminal police officers were arrested red-handed this Friday morning (12) suspected of participating in a scheme for the irregular entry of prohibited materials and money into the João Carlos da Silva Public Prison, in Japeri, Baixada Fluminense.
According to the State Secretariat of Criminal Police (Seppen), the agents were detained during an Internal Affairs operation. They are being investigated for the crimes of criminal association and qualified passive corruption.
According to investigations, initiated at the end of May by the secretariat's intelligence sector, the servers allowed large volumes to enter the prison unit without carrying out mandatory searches. The suspicion is that they received financial advantages to facilitate the entry of illicit materials into the prison.

During this Friday's action, the inspectors caught one of the police officers already inside the unit carrying, in a backpack, nine packs of cigarettes, two cell phone chargers, food, perfumes and ampoules of anabolic substances. Around R$28,000 in cash were also found.
Also according to Seppen, the police officer informally stated that the items were for his own use and that the money would be the result of the sale of a motorcycle. However, he did not present documentation proving the negotiation.
The police officer responsible for the entrance when his colleague entered was arrested for allegedly failing to carry out the mandatory inspection. The third police officer, who worked in access control at the unit, was also arrested on suspicion of participating in the scheme.
The cell phones of the three agents were seized and will be subjected to forensic examination. The investigation indicates that the money found would be destined for inmates, with part of the amounts being passed on to the police officers involved as payment for their involvement in the scheme.
The seized substances were sent for expert examination, which will confirm the composition of the material.
The three criminal police officers remained silent during the recording of the incident. They were taken to the 63rd DP (Japeri), where they remained in custody at the disposal of the courts.
