One month after its launch, the Treasury Reserve, a new Treasury Direct title aimed at small investors, has already reached R$2 billion in investments. The information was passed today (12) to the press by the Secretary of the National Treasury, Daniel Leal. "The Treasury Reserve is a success. We already have more than R$2 billion invested. We have also increased the number of investors, which is part of this democratization." Launched by the National Treasury Secretariat, B3 and Banco do Brasil, the Treasury Reserve provides a yield indexed to the basic interest rate (Selic). Another new feature is that it can be traded at any time of the day, every day of the week. The focus is on small investors or those who want to set up an emergency fund. "The Treasury Reserve is available at any time, it is technological, easy and with R$1 you can invest. It was created exactly to serve everyone. And there is no volatility or mark-to-market, which takes away the perception that you could be losing something. Here, the investor will only gain", highlighted Leal. At this moment, the modality is only available to Banco do Brasil account holders, but other banks should make it available soon. Treasury Direct To encourage investments in the bonds available from Tesouro Direto, such as the Treasury Reserve and the Treasury Selic, the National Treasury Secretariat and B3 decided to invest in a partnership with the football player Marta. "Marta is an icon, one of the greatest idols that Brazil has ever had as an athlete, person and woman. This will help the population, because being able to leverage the Treasury Direct will naturally result in more savings and more savings for people", explained Leal. Considered the queen of women's football and elected the best player in the world six times, Marta became an ambassador for Tesouro Direto, in a ceremony this morning at the headquarters of B3, in the capital of São Paulo. Today, around 3.4 million people invest in the program's securities – a 57% increase in the last five years.
