According to the Military Police, following the repercussions of the arrest of two suspects, identified as Paulo, aged 45, and Artênio, aged 26, Monteiro's team received information about a third suspect. This man is Ariel Jackson Alves Barbosa, 42 years old, and Artênio’s brother.
After the searches, the Military Police team located the suspect between the cities of Jataúba, in Pernambuco, and Congo, in Paraíba. The man was found inside a vehicle, at PB-214.

The Civil Police's suspicion is that Paulo premeditated the crime together with the other suspects, with the intention of appropriating the victim's assets. “The criminals were already planning the death with the clear intention of killing the victim and stealing his assets, both the cattle and the truck and other possible belongings”, reported delegate Francisco Júnior.
To do this, Paulo, who was the victim's caretaker, had the help of his son-in-law, Artênio, and his brother, Ariel Jackson, luring the victim to the property with the excuse that there was someone interested in buying the cattle.
Also according to delegate Francisco Júnior, the retiree's body was hidden approximately 1km from the house of the arrested suspect, who is identified as the perpetrator, close to a pasture area where the victim's cattle grazed.
There are still no details on how the victim was killed, and, due to the advanced state of decomposition in which the corpse was found, the cause of death can only be concluded after examination.

Family members claim that Walter, also known as “João”, left the city of Boa Vista, in Cariri, Paraíba, to trade cattle in the city of São José da Mata, which is nearby. He currently worked as a freelancer.
"It's a harrowing wait. We feel helpless, not knowing where he is, how he is, whether he's alive or dead," said Fátima Nascimento, his wife.
In a statement, the Paraíba Civil Police reported that the Campina Grande Robbery and Theft Police Station was assigned to investigate the disappearance. The corporation also informed that new information should be released as the investigations progress.
Walter's daughter, Jéssica Nascimento, said in the same interview that the last sign from the police chief was through a phone call, where he corresponded with his son, informing him precisely about going to São José da Mata to negotiate the sale of animals.
"He called my brother to say that he was going to investigate some cattle that he had on land in São José da Mata, on leased land. We waited for him to arrive, during the night, as always happened, and he didn't arrive," he said.
The family also said that two men were seen with the retired police officer on that property negotiating for cattle. His daughter said the person who leased the land from Walter reported that he did not know the men and that the delegate negotiated part of the animals, leaving in his car with the people.
Family members also reported that the retired police officer's car was last seen in the city of Taquaritinga do Norte, in Pernambuco. The vehicle would have passed through BR-104, but has not yet been located.
