Araraquara City Hall launches the city’s first pet adoption website Credit: Disclosure. Araraquara City Hall, through the Municipal Communication Secretariat, launched the city's first official animal adoption website. The initiative was created with the aim of expanding the population's access to responsible adoptions and facilitating meetings between families and animals waiting for a new home. The digital platform appears as an innovative tool to support the animal cause and strengthens the actions already developed by the Undersecretary of Animal Welfare, which currently monitors more than 600 animals under the municipality's care. The animals receive permanent monitoring through a contract signed with the Sicilian Kennel, responsible for essential care, including castration, deworming, microchip implantation, food, veterinary care and maintenance of the pets' health. The new portal, called “MiauDote”, was developed to make the adoption process more accessible, modern and efficient. Through the platform, interested parties will be able to view the profiles of available animals, learn about the characteristics of each pet and fill out an interest form for responsible adoption. After registration, the responsible team will carry out an assessment interview and, if the adoption criteria are met, the animal may be sent to its new home. The municipal secretary of Communication, Paula Cardoso, highlighted the importance of the initiative as a tool for bringing public authorities and the population closer together. "With the growth of digital media, City Hall needs to offer increasingly accessible channels for causes as important as responsible adoption. The current management is committed to expanding the means of communication and facilitating the population's access to public services", he highlighted. The creation of the first municipal adoption website represents a milestone for Araraquara and reinforces the administration's commitment to public policies aimed at animal welfare and awareness about responsible ownership. The online service is now available for use via the link: https://araraquara.sp.gov.br/miaudoteararaquara and will now operate in a complementary manner to in-person adoption campaigns, held twice a month, on Saturdays, at Espaço Cão Gabriel, in Parque Infantil. In addition to campaigns, adoption can also be done permanently directly at the Sicilian Kennel, from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4:30pm, and on Saturdays, from 8am to 12pm. Information: (16) 98877-7604 The dates for in-person campaigns continue to be announced in advance through the City Hall's official channels and also through the new digital adoption platform.
