The amount can be paid at banks, lottery outlets or banking apps, using methods such as Pix (via QR Code) and credit card, depending on the financial institution. The following are entitled to fee exemption: students who are completing high school in public schools in 2026; participants registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) who intend to use the result for certification of secondary school completion; those who already had their exemption request previously approved in April, according to the rules of the exemption notice. Attention: students who have obtained the right to exemption from this amount (such as public school students) must also register within the stated deadline. Otherwise, they will not be able to take the Enem. How to sign up Registration takes place exclusively via the Participant's Page (enem.inep.gov.br/participante/) within the specified deadline. All candidates must access the page using the Gov.br login (CPF and password). If this is your first access, you must create an account. When registering, the candidate must: provide personal data; indicate the need for an accessibility feature and whether you wish to use a social name; indicate the language of the foreign language (English or Spanish); complete the socioeconomic questionnaire; provide contact information; choose the exam location; Submit a photo and submit the application. At the end of this stage, if you are not entitled to exemption, you will still need to access the participant's page with CPF and password and download the invoice for payment. The registration stage will be simpler for all students graduating from public schools (enrolled in the third and fourth grades), who will already be automatically pre-registered. In this case, the student must simply access the system to define details such as the foreign language, need for specialized assistance and the municipality of application. What is Enem for? Enem is one of the main gateways to higher education in Brazil, used by public and private institutions as a selection criterion. Exam scores can be used in federal government programs such as Sisu, Prouni and Fies, and also guarantee discounts on tuition fees at private higher education institutions. However, from this year onwards, Enem will have a new primary function for the government, which is to assess the quality of secondary education, along the lines of the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb). Furthermore, the exam can also be used to certify completion of high school and declare the partial proficiency of participants over 18 years of age who have not completed the stage. Enem will also allow the production of educational indicators related to secondary education and the monitoring of the goals of the National Education Plan (PNE).
