Those interested in participating in the National High School Exam (Enem) 2026 must register by 11:59 pm this Friday (12), Brasília time. The National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (Inep) extended the deadline by one week, which would end until then on the 5th.  Registration is online and must be done directly on the Participant's Page on the Inep portal and using the Gov.br portal login. Even students who have approved their fee exemption request need to access the Inep system to register for the 2026 test. Inclusion and accessibility The extended deadline until this Friday (12) is also valid for requesting treatment using your social name and, if necessary, requesting specialized assistance. Inep included in Enem 2026 the possibility of specialized care for people with fibromyalgia and mental disorders, such as anxiety and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), among other situations. All specific conditions for requesting accessibility resources are described in the notice. The preliminary response to the request for specialized assistance and treatment by social name will be published on June 26th. Automatic enrollment For the first time, all high school graduates from public schools were automatically enrolled by the federal government.  The student's only obligation is to confirm, by this Friday, their participation in the registration system, choose the foreign language test option (English or Spanish) and indicate, if applicable, the need for accessibility resources or whether they want to be addressed by their social name in all phases of the exam. Registration fee After registration, the Enem system will generate the GRU Charge in the amount of R$85 for non-exempt candidates. With the extension of the registration period, payment of the exam fee must be made by June 17th. Payment options are via Pix, credit card, debit card or bank slip. Payment can be made at any bank, lottery outlet or banking apps. Inep highlights that participants in the Pé-de-Meia program, run by the Ministry of Education (MEC) and high school graduates from public schools are exempt from payment. More test locations The application of the Enem tests is scheduled for Sundays 8th and 15th November. According to Inep estimates, approximately 80% of public school graduates must take the tests on both days, at the school where they study. The measure aims to facilitate access and reduce travel. Enem The National High School Examination, which assesses the academic performance of students at the end of basic education, is considered the main way of entering higher education in Brazil, through federal programs such as the Unified Selection System (Sisu), the University for All Program (Prouni) and the Student Financing Fund (Fies).  Public and private educational institutions use test results to select students. Since the 2025 edition, Enem has once again certified the completion of this teaching stage for candidates who are 18 years of age and who also achieve the minimum score in each area of ​​knowledge in the tests and writing. Individual exam results can also be used in selection processes at Portuguese institutions that have an agreement with Inep.
