According to teachers, the adjustment is part of an agreement previously signed between the municipality and education workers. In a document sent to the union, the City Hall informed that it does not have the financial conditions to grant the increase at this time, although it recognized the existence of the commitment made to the category. The response generated dissatisfaction among education professionals. Around 300 teachers participated in the assembly that defined the strike. During the meeting, the workers defended the need to expand the mobilization and demand compliance with the agreement. According to the president of the ACP, Gilvano Bronzoni, the demand is not limited to salary adjustments. According to him, the category seeks to ensure compliance with a policy built over the years through negotiations between teachers and public authorities. Throughout the assembly, teachers also highlighted the importance of strengthening dialogue with the school community and maintaining unity between the different segments of the municipal education network. With the approval of the strike, the union began legal procedures to carry out the movement and organized mobilization actions in school units. The category's expectation is that the strike will pressure the municipality to resume negotiations on the application of the adjustment provided for in the agreement.
