The RJ Civil Police began an operation this Friday (12) against a criminal organization linked to the Third Pure Command (TCP) that was evicting residents from properties around the São Carlos Complex, in the central region of Rio de Janeiro. There was intense gunfire upon the teams' arrival.

Draco agents, with support from the Special Resources Coordination (Core) and the Civil Police of Minas Gerais, went out to execute 43 search and seizure warrants in Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and São Paulo.
The court also ordered the blocking of around R$60 million and the seizure of properties, luxury vehicles and other assets identified as part of the organization's asset concealment scheme.

Intimidation and money laundering
According to the Civil Police, the TCP created a structure of economic exploitation that went beyond drug trafficking. The investigation shows that members of the faction imposed an environment of permanent intimidation to expand their territorial and economic control outside the limits of the community.
According to the investigation, the properties obtained after the expulsions were registered in the name of third parties and companies linked to the faction, which made it possible to give the appearance of legality to the assets accumulated by the faction.
The investigation also identified a money laundering scheme through shell companies. According to the police, vehicle parts stores that generated millions of reais in recent years were used to hide resources from drug trafficking.
The Civil Police stated that the financial structure was directly linked to the drug trafficking leadership in the São Carlos Complex and served to strengthen the faction's assets and activities.
Arms trade
The investigations also revealed the existence of a network focused on the clandestine negotiation of firearms.
According to the police, members of the organization were involved in the purchase, intermediation and supply of weapons to communities dominated by the TCP, contributing to the strengthening of the faction's military power.
Among those investigated are Anderson Rosa Mendonça, known as Coelho, appointed as head of the organization; Leonardo Miranda da Silva, Empada; Rafael Carlos da Silva Ferreira, Parazão or Paraíba; and Marcílio Cheru de Oliveira, the Minor Cheru.
The investigations continue, and the analysis of the seized material could form the basis for new phases of the operation, according to the Civil Police.
