According to the state secretary for Women and Inclusive Policies, Bianca Pacheco, the inauguration represents the fulfillment of an old demand. “This equipment represents a historic achievement for the women of RJ, who have been waiting for more than a decade for the implementation of the Casa da Mulher Brasileira”, he stated. “More than bringing together services, this space was designed to offer welcome, protection and conditions so that women in situations of violence can rebuild their lives with more autonomy, security and dignity,” she said. A 2nd stage of works is in the final bidding phase. The total investment planned for the project is R$28.5 million, in partnership between the state and federal governments.
