The authorization for TV retransmission was published this Thursday (11), in the Official Gazette of the Union.
With the action, the ministry allows signals from commercial or educational TV generating stations to reach locations where the signal does not reach directly or arrives with low quality.

To begin transmissions, broadcasters must obtain authorization to operate the antennas from the National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel). When enabled, residents will be able to watch programming on channel 38.
“The television retransmission service helps ensure that more Brazilians have access to quality television with less interference, especially in more remote locations,” said the Minister of Communications, Frederico de Siqueira Filho.
The expansion of open TV retransmission is part of the strategy to strengthen radio broadcasting in the country, ensuring that more communities have free access to information, educational programming and cultural content.
