More than half of inmates in prison are repeat offenders. Therefore, in June of last year, a new term of ``imprisonment'' was introduced to replace ``prison sentences'' with the aim of ensuring that prisoners receive work and guidance that will help them recover and prevent them from re-offending after being released from prison.
