According to the statement, “circumstances beyond control” led to the decision, and the entity said it will soon publish guidance on procedures for those who have already purchased tickets. The reduced number of sales would not guarantee coverage of the event costs. The organization reported that the investment required to hold the Expoal exceeds R$1.5 million, but ticket revenue would not have reached R$100,000. According to the board, given the financial imbalance, the decision was to cancel the 43rd edition of the party. In a statement, the municipality highlighted that it guaranteed two days of free entry for the population and that the cultural contribution contributed to reducing the overall costs of the event, allowing tickets and packages to be sold at more affordable prices.
