The European Union considers dialogue with the Taliban the only path regarding Afghan refugees

This step comes at a time when the European Commission is preparing to hold meetings with representatives of the Taliban as part of its efforts to reduce irregular migration and strengthen mechanisms for returning migrants to their countries of origin, even though the European Union does not officially recognize the government led by the movement in Kabul.
