CRITICISM OF THE TARIFF Last week, Lula criticized former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for the United States report that proposes a 25% surcharge on Brazilian products, alleging restrictive practices on American trade. The practices cited by the American government include PIX, illegal deforestation, failures to apply anti-corruption laws, among others. Some products would be left out of the new taxation, such as meat, fruit, coffee, aircraft, medicines, fertilizers, etc. (understand below). The new rate is not yet in effect, the final decision could be made by July 15th. The PT member also defended that the former president's children are "worse than him". "These sons of Bolsonaro manage to be worse than him, and are, in fact, sellers [sellers who betray collective interests to benefit themselves] of the homeland. They asked a foreign country to interfere in Brazilian decisions," said Lula.
