Trader Lucineide Sampaio has had a clothing store there for around 16 years and usually invests in products during the World Cup. According to her, scarves are the most sought after items because they are versatile.
"Every year we add accessories, Brazilian clothes, shirts. The scarf can be used as a belt over shorts, or worn on the head. Depending on your imagination, you can do a lot of things. There are a lot of supplies out and stock is almost exhausted. Replacements are already arriving," said the saleswoman.
Lucineide sells the scarves for R$30.
Licensee Leonara Coelho has a beachwear store in Shopping da Cidade and also mentions scarves as a highlight of sales.
"During the World Cup, what is catching the attention of consumers are the scarves, which are being used tied on the side and as blouses. People are looking for a lot.", he began.
The store's main highlight are the crochet bikinis and beach cover-ups, produced by Leonara's 73-year-old mother. With the arrival of the World Cup, the family created themed pieces, which have been in high demand. Prices vary between R$60 and R$100.

Trader Irene Ferreira has been in the space since it opened, around 16 years ago, and is also betting on products for the World Cup. In addition to shirts, she sells crochet bikinis in Brazilian colors. According to Irene, most of the pieces are already sold out.
"There's no way not to invest in the cup, it's a moment where we get our foot out of the mud in sales. Everything is over here. We sell beach cover-ups and crochet bikinis. I invested around R$5,000 and it's all over. My daughter is going to travel again to buy more", said Irene.
