Reconstruction Aid has already been paid to 4,985 families affected by the rains, in February this year, in Juiz de Fora and Ubá, in Minas Gerais. In total, there were 4,132 residents of Juiz de Fora and another 853 in Ubá. The amount paid already exceeds R$36 million.
The aid has a value of R$7,300, paid in a single installment, and is intended for families who lost homes and other material assets in the areas hit by the storms. Those whose properties were destroyed or who had to vacate them due to the risk of collapses are covered.

Families registered with Reconstruction Aid can monitor the status of their registration through the Citizen Portal. You must present proof of address and validation of the property's location in the affected areas.
According to the government, pending registrations are being reevaluated and may receive assistance in the next batches.
"The existence of pending issues does not represent a definitive denial of the benefit, since the registrations can be corrected and subjected to new processing. Families can check the status of their registrations directly on the Citizen Portal and, when necessary, contact the city hall to update the registration information", informs the Presidency of the Republic.
Those who have already confirmed the data, but have not yet received financial support, can contact Caixa Econômica Federal to check if an update is necessary.
Rains
The landslides and floods caused by the heavy rains that hit Zona da Mata Mineira in February this year caused at least 64 deaths.
At the time, Juiz de Fora city hall reported that one in four people lives in an area at risk of landslides.
