According to the new legislation (no. 8,133), pharmacies and drugstores must post posters in easily visible places with the following message:
"Dear consumer, there are medicines distributed free of charge by the SUS. Check RENAME on the Ministry of Health website."
Rename is the National List of Essential Medicines, a list that brings together medicines made available by the SUS across the country.
The law determines that notices may be installed inside or outside the establishments. Posters must be at least A4 size and follow formatting criteria defined by legislation.
Pharmacies and drugstores that have an electronic address must also make the information available online.
The text provides for the imposition of a fine for establishments that fail to comply with the standard. The value of the penalty, however, will still be defined in regulation by the Municipal Health Department.
