A 32-year-old woman was injured after being run over by a motorcycle in the Campo Bello sector, in Gurupi, in the southern region of the state. According to the Military Police (PM), the accident happened when she was trying to save her son, who ran across the street without noticing the vehicle coming towards him. The accident was recorded this Monday (8).
Security camera footage recorded the moment of the crash. In the video, you can see the child crossing the road. The motorcycle appears towards the boy and, quickly, the mother, who was on the other side of the street, runs to try to rescue him.
Before reaching the child, she was hit and fell. The motorcyclist also fell just ahead. The child was not hit and did not suffer any injuries.

According to a note from the Military Police (PM), the 21-year-old motorcyclist said he tried to avoid the child, but the mother tried to help and ended up getting into the path of the vehicle.

The woman was taken to Gurupi Regional Hospital for specialized care. Due to her health condition, she was unable to give a statement at the scene. According to information obtained by TV Anhanguera, the woman had fractured her knee and possibly suffered an open fracture. The motorcyclist was taken to the city's Emergency Care Unit (UPA).
Technical expertise was on site and the case will be investigated by the Civil Police. The motorcycle had regular documentation and was released to a colleague of the driver.
