Man arrested after trying to run over police officer and beat traffic stop in RO Reproduction/Military Police of Rondônia (PM-RO) A man, whose identity was not revealed, is suspected of trying to run over a police officer during a traffic stop on BR-435, in Colorado do Oeste (RO), over the weekend. According to the Military Police (PM), he was arrested after escaping from inspection. According to the PM, the driver approached the police barrier, reduced speed and appeared to stop. However, he accelerated the car towards the police. One of the agents managed to avoid it and was not hit. Upon approach, the military reported that the man showed signs of intoxication. Inside the car, several cans of beer were found, some of which had already been consumed. He was arrested on suspicion of disobedience, dangerous driving and drunk driving, and was taken to the Integrated Public Security Unit (Unisp) of Colorado do Oeste, where he was made available to the courts.
