Two people were arrested for drunk driving, while five drivers refused to take a breathalyzer test. According to the PRF, one of the accidents left people injured, while two others resulted in deaths. The incidents were recorded along the two federal highways, which concentrate an intense flow of vehicles during long holidays. During the operation, agents inspected 1,077 people and 855 vehicles. 463 alcohol tests were also carried out to check the presence of alcohol in drivers' bodies. The actions resulted in the issuance of 177 infraction notices, 139 with an approach and 38 without an approach. Among the main irregularities caught by the PRF are prohibited overtaking, which topped the ranking of risk infractions. In total, 20 cases were recorded, 16 of which were overtaking in prohibited areas and four in continuous lanes. The inspection also identified six children transported without a seat, six motorcyclists or passengers without helmets, five vehicle occupants without seat belts and 11 irregularities in the transport of dangerous products. According to the corporation, the operation aimed to reinforce road safety and reduce the number of accidents on BRs 163 and 230, considered important corridors for the movement of people and goods in western Pará.
