The electricity crisis constitutes the largest crisis in the governorates of southern Yemen, especially with the onset of the summer season, and especially in Aden and Mukalla, where periods of outages exceed 10 to 18 hours per day, which led people to go out in angry protests to demand urgent and sustainable solutions to end their suffering in light of the high temperatures and humidity.
