The administration of the Iguaçu National Park did not disclose the tourist's identity, only saying that he was Brazilian.
The situation was attended to by civil firefighters from the unit, who work to monitor the trails and the access walkway to Garganta do Diabo.
"Upon becoming aware of the situation, the professionals carried out immediate intervention, guided the visitor on safety procedures and accompanied the tourist until the end of the tour, when he was removed from the park", informed the administration.
In a statement, the Iguaçu National Park reinforced that it is expressly prohibited to overtake, climb or sit on the guardrails, whether to take photos or retrieve objects.

According to the park administration, visitors receive safety guidance from emergency teams who work permanently in the unit and through signage installed along the route.
If an item falls into the river or on the slopes, the advice is to call the fire team to assess the possibility of rescue, depending on safety conditions. According to the park, the work is carried out in an integrated manner between firefighters, security teams and, when necessary, with the support of the Military Police.
"This measure is essential to preserve the integrity of the professionals involved in rescue operations and guarantee the safety of other visitors", informed the park.
