The survey was carried out on May 25th and 26th in 13 supermarkets in the capital. The biggest difference was found in the 10-gram cinnamon powder, which registered a variation of 266% between the establishments surveyed.

Other items also showed large price fluctuations. Raw peanuts weighing 400 grams had a difference of 146.43%, followed by pé de moleque weighing 306 grams (118.68%), cachaça weighing 965 ml (101.37%), cornmeal weighing 500 grams (100.29%) and smooth red wine weighing 750 ml (85.27%).

For those who want to prepare typical foods at home, the research also highlighted the average prices of some products. A 210-gram cork paçoca cost, on average, R$10.38. Yellow hominy weighing 500 grams had an average price of R$4.33, while white hominy of the same weight cost R$5.54.
According to Procon Mato Grosso do Sul, linked to the State Secretariat for Social Assistance and Human Rights (Sead), the values may change after the research period. Therefore, the agency recommends that consumers compare prices before purchasing.
