Surfer Geraldo Barreira also participated in the tribute and remembered Petrônio's connection with the sea.
"He was a friend, idol and supporter of sports. He will be greatly missed. We chose to pay tribute at sea because Laje dos Dois Irmãos was one of the places where he most liked to surf", he said.

"Surfing in Fernando de Noronha has a lot to do with Petrônio's history. In addition to always being at sea, he encouraged children and teenagers and cultivated friendships wherever he went. His love for nature will continue to inspire many people", declared Ana Maria.
