Katra special train met with an accident at Ludhiana railway station. When the train started moving, the coupling connecting the two coaches broke. Due to which the toilet of the sleeper coach broke with a bang-like sound. Both the coaches also separated. There was panic among the passengers as soon as they heard the sound like an explosion. When the accident occurred, the train was about to depart from Ludhiana. This train named New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Special (04081) was going from New Delhi to Vaishno Devi today (Saturday) morning itself. As soon as the accident was known, the Railway Protection Force and the local police reached the station. The cause of the accident is being investigated. The officials have not said anything formally yet. However, some officials are claiming that it broke due to the strain on the latch in the middle of the compartment while the train was moving.
