Who can register
You can register for Enem 2026:
High school graduates: Students who are in their final year and will complete high school in 2026.
Graduates: People who have already finished high school in previous years.
Trainees: Participants who will be under 18 years old on the first day of the test and who will complete high school after the 2026 school year. They participate only for self-evaluation purposes.
Certification candidates: Those over 18 years of age (completed by the first day of the test) who have not completed high school and wish to use the grade to obtain the certificate of completion or the Partial Declaration of Proficiency.
Foreigners: As long as they present an official and original identification document with photo (such as a passport or ID issued by the Ministry of Justice).
Registration fee and exemption
For Enem 2026, the registration fee will be R$85, as in previous years. Candidates who are not entitled to exemption must make payment between May 25th and June 10th.
The amount can be paid at banks, lottery outlets or banking apps, accepting methods such as Pix (via QR Code) and credit card, depending on the financial institution.
Students who are completing high school in public schools in 2026 are entitled to a fee exemption.
In addition, the benefit extends to participants registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) who intend to use the result for certification of completion of secondary education.
Those who already had their exemption request previously approved in April, according to the rules of the exemption notice, are also exempt.
Attention: students who have obtained the right to exemption from this amount (such as public school students) must also register within the stated deadline. Otherwise, they will not be able to take the Enem.
How to sign up
Registration takes place exclusively via the Participant's Page (enem.inep.gov.br/participante/) within the specified deadline.
All candidates must access the page using the Gov.br login (CPF and password). If this is your first access, you must create an account.
When registering, the candidate must
inform personal data,
indicate the need for an accessibility feature and whether you wish to use your social name,
indicate the language of the foreign language (English or Spanish),
complete the socioeconomic questionnaire,
put contact information,
choose the exam location,
Submit a photo and submit the application. At the end of this stage, if you are not entitled to exemption, you will still need to access the participant's page with CPF and password and download the invoice for payment.
The registration stage will be simpler for all students graduating from public schools (enrolled in the third and fourth grades), who will already be automatically pre-registered. In this case, the student must simply access the system to define details such as the foreign language, need for specialized assistance and the municipality of application.
What is Enem for?
Enem is one of the main gateways to higher education in Brazil, used by public and private institutions as a selection criterion. Exam scores can be used in federal government programs such as Sisu, Prouni and Fies, and also guarantee discounts on tuition fees at private higher education institutions.
However, from this year onwards, Enem will have a new primary function for the government, which is to assess the quality of secondary education, along the lines of the Basic Education Assessment System (Saeb).
Furthermore, the exam can also be used to certify completion of high school to declare the partial proficiency of participants over 18 years of age who have not completed the stage.
Enem will also allow the production of educational indicators related to secondary education and the monitoring of the goals of the National Education Plan (PNE).
Disciplines and schedules
The Enem will be administered on two Sundays in November (except in Belém, Ananindeua and Marituba, in Pará).

The candidate must do:
45 language questions (40 in Portuguese and 5 in English or Spanish);
45 human science questions;
essay.
