The Meteorological Department (IMD) has today issued an orange alert of heavy hailstorm and storm in five districts of Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur. Yellow alert has been given in Chamba, Kangra and Solan districts. During this period, storms can blow at a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in many parts. In view of this, people have been asked to exercise caution. Yellow alert has been issued in Chamba, Kangra and Kullu districts for tomorrow also. The Western Disturbance will definitely weaken a bit on June 6, but light rain is expected to continue in the higher and middle altitude areas. Rain will continue in most parts of the state till June 10. Snowfall on higher peaks of Lahaul Spiti During the last 24 hours, there was heavy rain in many parts and fresh snowfall on the higher peaks of Lahaul Spiti. Maximum rainfall was 33 mm in Shimla, 25.0 mm in Bijhari, 7.0 mm in Khadrala, 5.0 mm in Jot, 3.3 mm in Kotkhai, 1.6 mm in Bhavanagar and 0.8 mm in Mandi. Due to this the temperature has dropped. Temperature dropped below normal. At present the temperature in most of the cities of the state has fallen below normal. Chamba's maximum temperature was recorded at 32.9 degrees after falling by 6.1 degrees from normal, Kangra's at 36.5 degrees after falling by 2.4 degrees, Solan at 31.5 degrees after falling by 0.6 degrees and Una at 37.4 degrees after falling by 1.3 degrees.
