Regarding the fire at a Coupang logistics center in Incheon, fire authorities raised the response level to level 2. According to the Incheon Fire Department on the 18th, a fire was reported to 119 at around 6:54 a.m. on the 6th floor of the Coupang 32 Logistics Center in Seoknam-dong, Seohae-gu, Incheon. 121 people, including the logistics center employees, evacuated on their own and no casualties were reported. However, 27 reports followed as black smoke rose outside the building. In addition, the possibility of the combustion expanding is small, but it is expected that it will take more time to completely extinguish the fire due to the large amount of combustibles inside. A fire official said, “The employees inside were evacuated and no one was injured or taken to the hospital,” and “The fire did not grow larger or spread to other floors.” Previously, the fire authorities issued the first stage of response in which all fire department personnel and equipment in the fire department were dispatched at around 9:15 a.m., about two hours after the fire broke out. However, the authorities raised the alert, believing that it would take a long time to extinguish the fire due to the large area inside the logistics center and the abundance of flammable materials.
