The government charges the captain who died in the capsizing accident off the coast of Henoko with suspicion of violating the Maritime Transportation Act.

After a ship capsized off the coast of Henoko, Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, killing a high school student and the captain on a training trip, the Cabinet Office Okinawa General Secretariat filed criminal charges against the deceased captain with the Japan Coast Guard on suspicion of violating the Maritime Transport Act by operating the ship without registering as required by law.
