LG Electronics helps disabled youth grow into human resources with AI capabilities. LG Electronics announced on the 14th that it will hold the 2026 Global IT Challenge for Disabled Youth (GITC) Korea for two days from the 15th to the 16th at Ramada by Wyndham Daejeon, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon. GITC is a competition to improve the IT ability of disabled youth around the world and support their advancement into society. Youth of various types, including those with visual, hearing, physical, and developmental disabilities, participate and go through a selection process in each country to advance to the international stage. As of the latest competition, about 90 to 100 people from 16 countries are participating in the finals, and over 5,000 disabled youth from 41 countries have participated over the past 15 years since 2011. This Korean competition is hosted by LG and the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by LG Electronics and the Korea Association for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled. 60 disabled youth from 17 regions across the country participated in ▲e-Combination, which deals with AI-based information search and document work, ▲e-Creative, which evaluates self-driving car programming abilities, and ▲evaluates video production abilities.
