‘The New Avante N TCR’, a high-performance model of Hyundai Motor Company’s flagship sedan Avante, modified for racing, ‘The New Avante N TCR’ won the global top-level touring car competition. A touring car is a regular passenger car modified for racing. According to Hyundai Motor Company, this vehicle won the fourth round of the ‘2026 TCR (Touring Car Racing) World Tour’ held at the Villa Real Internacional circuit in Portugal on the 11th and 12th (local time). The driver was Norbert Michelisz. TCR is a short-term race of about 30 minutes. This TCR World Tour is the highest level competition among various types of TCR, and the Hyundai Motors team won its third championship cup this season, following the first and third rounds. Meanwhile, the Genesis Magma Racing team participated in the 4th round of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) held at the Interlagos Circuit in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the 12th (local time), but only two cars completed the race and failed to earn points. WEC is a race where supercars compete for durability over a long period of time.
