Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 13th that it held the opening ceremony of the 42nd Kyobo Life Dream Sports Festival at the Jecheon Indoor Gymnasium in North Chungcheong Province on the 9th and began a month-long schedule. The Kyobo Life Dream Sports Competition, which started in 1985, is the only national comprehensive sports competition held by the private sector. It was established based on founder Shin Yong-ho’s belief that ‘only by developing healthy physical strength from a young age can one develop one’s personality and knowledge to the fullest.’ So far, more than 155,000 athletes have participated in this competition, and more than 500 athletes have grown into national team members. This year, 5,000 elementary school student athletes from across the country are participating and competing in seven sports, including gymnastics, track and field, judo, tennis, ice skating, table tennis, and swimming. Shin Chang-jae, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Kyobo Life Insurance, said, “I hope to grow by always keeping the sports spirit, especially the spirit of fair play, in mind and practicing it, and become a true leader who spreads the right sports spirit throughout our society.”
