A 53-year-old suspect from Namekawa City, Toyama Prefecture, was arrested on suspicion of premeditated murder after allegedly planning to murder an unspecified number of people in Tokyo and making preparations such as putting a knife in their luggage. In response to the investigation, he reportedly stated, ``I thought that if I committed an indiscriminate killing incident, I would be shot or sentenced to death and die.''
