Violation of Organ Transplant Act: “Aftercare” song: Was transplant recommended?
In a case in which three former directors of a non-profit organization were arrested for arranging organ transplant surgery for a man in Cambodia and receiving compensation for it, it was revealed through interviews with investigators that the former directors appeared to have encouraged multiple patients, including the man, to receive transplants by explaining that ``we would also provide aftercare in the country.'' On the other hand, some patients said that they were not able to receive adequate treatment at the hospitals to which they were referred after returning to Japan, and the Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the possibility that the former board members were providing assistance without preparing a system to accept them after they returned.
