In a case in which three people, including a former director of a nonprofit organization, were arrested for arranging an organ transplant in Cambodia for a man living in Tokyo and receiving payment for it, interviews with investigators found that the former director encouraged the man to contact the man by phone with a patient who had undergone transplant surgery there in the past, and told them about his experiences.
