Nobel Prize-winning author Han Kang met with reporters on the last day of the independent bookstore ‘Bookstore Today’ on the 7th and said goodbye to readers. Han Kang, who rarely gives interviews to the media, even hosted the last reading and said, “I couldn’t have completed the bookstore without my customers.” ‘Bookstore Today’ in Jongno-gu, Seoul closed its doors after eight years with the last reading held on this day. This place, which opened in Yangjae-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul in 2018 and moved to Seochon in 2023, is a space where people meet people through books through readings, reading groups, reading and writing classes, performances and exhibitions. Currently, Han Kang has retired from management, but he continues his relationship with the bookstore as an executive director. In an interview with reporters ahead of the last reading, Han Kang said, “It is sad (the end of the bookstore), but rather than being sad that it is not permanent, I am grateful that I have been able to continue this work for the past eight years and think it is a miracle.” He also said, “We tried various things such as reading groups, book clubs, reading and writing classes, performances and exhibitions, but each time,
