Hamas, the Islamic organization that effectively controls the Palestinian Gaza Strip, announced on the 6th that it had disbanded the Gaza Strip's administrative authority. They claim that this is in order to transfer authority to a committee made up of Palestinian experts based on the peace plan promoted by US President Trump. However, there is no mention of the disarmament of Hamas, which is included in the peace plan, and the committee to which authority will be transferred has not been able to enter the Gaza Strip, making the future uncertain. Hamas has effectively controlled the Gaza Strip since 2007.
