Telephone option no longer available: Employees should present sick leave from the first day of absence

Chancellor Merz repeatedly complains about what he sees as the excessive sickness rate in Germany - and blames the possibility of sick leave over the phone. Now the rules are to be significantly tightened - with exceptions. There is sharp criticism from the Greens.
