Indonesia introduces "facial recognition" for SIM card activation as special anti-fraud measure

The Indonesian government has begun to introduce regulations requiring facial recognition to verify identity when opening a SIM card phone line, in response to a series of special scams using illegally obtained mobile phone SIM cards.
