Gwanghallu, Namwon. Provided by the National Heritage Administration Gwanghallu Pavilion in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do, well-known as the setting for Joseon Dynasty pansori and novels, has become a national treasure. The National Heritage Administration announced on the 1st that it has designated ‘Namwon Gwanghallu Pavilion’ as a national treasure. This is the first time it has been promoted to a national treasure in about 63 years since it was designated as a treasure in 1963. Gwanghallu is a pavilion building representing the Honam region in the late Joseon Dynasty, and is designated as ‘Honam Jeilru’ for its beautiful scenery in harmony with nature.
